The Douro beyond wine
Deep within the Douro, between the terraced vineyards and steep slopes beautiful olive trees not only adorn the landscape but also mark the boundaries of the vineyard parcels.
Particularly resilient to the region’s microclimate, to low temperatures, drought periods, and sometimes poor soils, it is in the Douro that olive trees produce darker-colored olive oil with more intense and aromatic flavours. And it is, precisely, in this idyllic setting that our latest launch was born: Fora da Série Bordadura Olive Oil.

The name “Bordadura” pays homage to the centuries-old Douro tradition, where olive trees were planted at the vineyard edges, protecting the land and ensuring the quality of the vines.
A 100% olive oil sourced from our own olive groves over 50 years old, located in each of our Quintas, across the three sub-regions of the Douro. Cultivated with extra care and without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. Just as old vines produce richer wines, so do ancient olive trees yield a more sophisticated and complex olive oil.
Drawing from the wisdom of its siblings (our wines), this olive oil is also an authentic expression of the Douro terroir, reflecting its diversity and richness, and representing our serious commitment to enhancing this territory.
As elegant on the table as it is on the palate, Fora da Série Bordadura pairs especially well with flavourful beefsteak tomatoes and a crusty traditional bread.
